What if transformation is more about how you’re being than what you’re doing?
What if it’s a shedding away rather than adding to?
What if it’s a revealing of what’s already there within you?
Every human relationship, whether professional or personal, involves some level of facilitation. The word ‘facilitator’ comes from the Latin facilitas which means easy. Facilitation is the act of making something easier or accessible. If you have ever been a facilitator or a recipient, you know when it has been helpful or not. The process of facilitation can actually be easy - it can be characterized by a sense of ease. So why does it sometimes feel like you’re pulling teeth? What is the missing quality that makes the whole process easy and smooth? What actually makes facilitation transformative?
Presence.
Correction of Perception
In short, the ease of the facilitator puts the other person at ease so that they can listen to their own wisdom and have the necessary insight or transformation.
In nearly three decades of helping others heal and orient to their authentic purpose, I have come to see that lasting change happens when you have a correction of perception. This happens when you see something fresh and new for yourself, an insight. That is to say, insights that transform cannot be given, bestowed or earned - they are realised.
Insights are not merely 'better ideas'; they are profound realisations capable of radically changing your life.
Insightful understanding fundamentally disrupts the underlying conditioned thinking and reactivity and invites a different, more authentic level of showing up in the world.
What people say
The Insights
From the recipient’s perspective, successful facilitation happens when they have a new way of perceiving themselves, a situation or a way through an impasse. Their life subsequently orients in the direction that makes them truly come alive. This insight enables the person to integrate and take decisive action to move forward in life.
The conditions that are insight-friendly are a relaxed mind, an open heart and permissiveness. They also have the quality of freshness, lightness, humour and a spirit of possibility. Presence fulfills all those requirements.
Finding sacred space
Since insights are the agents of transformation, we need a different approach to facilitation. The facilitator needs to be deeply present and invite the client into the space of possibility in themselves. It is a sacred space, outside of time, grounded in the now and full of possibility. Presence then infuses, informs and guides the conversation, questioning, teaching or intervention that makes for a successful outcome.
As a catalyst of transformation, the facilitator therefore needs to be in the space of possibility themselves. Presence is what makes them transformationally conducive.
This is where The En-Dao Space comes in…
The En-Dao Space
The En-Dao Space, short for “entering the space of Dao”, is a journey exploring the state, space and spark that makes for successful facilitation. Our exploration will be framed by five key aspects of transformative presence:
Embody. Enhance. En-Dao. Enable. Enact.
1. Embody - practices for settling the nervous system and settling the mind to access the space of possibility.
2. Enhance - amplifying the connection to the space of possibility with others.
3. En-Dao - entering the inner space of the Dao. Deep presence attunes you to hearing, receiving and being guided by your innate wisdom.
4. Empower - When someone realises that they can change, they are empowered. As a facilitator in presence, you can support the other person to access that state within themselves.
5. Enact - with an insight, the person knows what to do and what the next step is. They can now deepen their trust and act to manifest and materialize their insight.

About Dr Hung Tran MBBS
My deepest joy is accompanying people as they come home to themselves. When you can be present to life as it is, the life you were meant to live makes itself visible.
The premise of my work is that lasting healing and transformation can only happen through your insightful understanding of who you are and how your experiences are created.
Since 1998, I have practiced as a physician of Western and then Far Eastern medicine. I owned and ran a thriving acupuncture practice in Central London until 2020. I’ve also served as a teacher of meditation in the Buddhist tradition. In 2017, I pioneered the first mentorship programme in Classical Acupuncture.
Through all this, I have come to see that the essence of healing and transformation is a correction of perception. I now work as a consultant, mentor and educator of innate health.
For individuals
-
As a physician, I help individuals discover their own unique medicine and access their remarkable self-healing capacity. This is mainly accomplished through insightful conversations and when helpful, I use acupuncture, or meditation, Daoist life nourishing practices, essential oils and flower essences.
For groups
-
I offer workshops, retreats and in-depth training for facilitators. For healthcare professionals, I provide support in deepening their understanding of healing, discovering their unique expression and sharing that with the world.
My approach
-
Whether working with individuals or groups, my intention remains the same - to invite you into presence. This is where you can hear your connection to your wisdom and allow that to guide, heal and transform you.
Through presence, you will come into ever deeper alignment with your authentic self, enabling you to live the life you were meant to live.
Who is the training for?
If you are involved in human relationships, you are at some level a facilitator. Whether you are a healthcare practitioner, parent, leader, artist, teacher, coach, mentor, counsellor, educator, or change maker, you are involved in facilitating transformation in other people.
There are fundamentals that all models of change share, which have to do with the transformative process and the journey we undertake ourselves. So, regardless of the therapeutic modality, role or stage of life you’re in, these fundamentals apply to wherever you are in your journey of transformation.
In this training, we will be drawing attention to and making conscious of the undercurrents that happen to us as facilitators and how that reflects and mirrors in our clients. We shall focus on the inner dynamics of how transformation happens. It naturally follows that the more aware we are of our inner process, the more effective we become as facilitators.
What makes this training different?
This is a journey in which we explore the fundamentals of transformation. It is an experiential journey in which we undergo our transformative process. It is also a practical journey in which we explore and embody the five stages of transformative presence enabling us to sensitively and appropriately support others.
This training is based on the premise that to solve deep problems and transform, you need to first be grounded in presence which makes it conducive to that goal. Normally the reason we are not able to transform and why impasses remain unresolved is because we’re not in a state of mind that is conducive to the solution.
The way to effectively help others is to become present and then invite them into that transformative space within themselves. Practitioners of any healing modality, teachers, coaches or seekers are welcome and it follows impeccably the Eye of the Needle training.
The En-Dao Space.
Transformation isn’t produced. It is presenced.
It is facilitated not by statements, but by states.
Transformation is not something done to you per se, but an inner space of possibility that you orient yourself towards. A facilitator, therefore, does not do anything to transform you per se, instead, they create ideal conditions for you to access your own transformative insights. It is their presence that is transformative rather than their product.
During the training, you will undergo a journey of presence, making change possible for you. It is this immersion and being open to transformation yourself that makes it possible to facilitate change in others. In short, The En-Dao Process is designed to deepen your presence, making your facilitation more intentional, easeful and deeply impactful.
